EARTHSIEGE PATCH 1.01 README 1/24/95
The following bugs have been fixed:
Getting "extra" Hercs.
Hercs from single missions were being transferred to career
files after a "resume" game. This no longer is the case.
Save Career after end of game.
There was an error that allowed you to back up a career after
you had finished the final mission. This could overwrite data
in your career file. The "SAVE" button is now disabled
after you complete the final mission of the game.
Weapon Damage Bitmaps in the Service Bay.
Damage bitmaps on some weapons were not being updated after
repairs were made (the weapons would function normally).
Duplicate wingman names.
The pilot names for your copilots have been corrected and duplicate
names removed.
Weapons display.
A minor bug was fixed which caused the "OFFLINE" text to be
improperly positioned on the cockpit weapons display,
particularly on a Raptor.
Linked weapons energy use.
If a linked weapon was out of energy, you would not advance
to the next weapon in the firing chain with some weapon
configurations.
Thrustmaster FLCS
The mdef line in the Thrustmaster F-16 FLCS ES.B50 file has
been corrected. Attempting to download the previous .B50 file
would generate an error. Please note: You should select "joystick 1"
as your control device in the preferences menu if you wish to use
the programmable features of the FLCS.
TAB key on sign-in screen.
The TAB key did not function properly on the career menu.
This could damage a career file. TAB key now works as outlined
in the manual.
NEW FEATURES:
CAREER DIFFICULTY SETTING:
A career difficulty feature has been added in this patch. You can now
select the difficulty of a career before you begin it. You cannot change
the difficulty of a career once it is in progress.
RUDDER AXIS SWITCHING:
You now have the option to swap the rudder axes if you desire. The
KEYJOY.CFG file in the \MTECH\DATA subdirectory has an additional
entry that should be self-explanitory (see the Earthsiege readme
for more information about modifying KEYJOY.CFG).
IMPROVED WCS MK II Support
A new version of ES.ADV is provided, and needs to be downloaded to the WCS
(see your WCS manual for directions on downloadling).
Two things have been changed:
1) The throttle now operates over its entire forward/backward range, i.e.,
centering the throttle stops the vehicle.
2) When using the WCS, the joystick Y-axis now controls the turret tilt
(previously the joystick Y-axis was dead when using WCS).
The following throttle keys have been added for WCS throttle support.
CTL-1 Max reverse
CTL-2 75% rev
CTL-3 50% rev
CTL-4 25% rev
CTL-5 STOP
CTL-6 STOP
CTL-7 25% fwd
CTL-8 50% fwd
CTL-9 75% fwd
CTL-0 Max forward
